Have you been searching for a cheap laptop to fulfill all your web browsing and multimedia needs? Are you a student looking to buy their first laptop? Perhaps the owner of a small startup business who needs a reliable, yet cost-effective notebook computer? Well guess what- we have exactly what you need.

Three of the best laptops that you can purchase in India for less than 25000 rupees. Selected based on price-to-performance and overall design, all three of these laptops are perfect for anyone who needs a cheap, but highly functional notebook. We made sure to select laptops with plenty of I/O and connectivity.

Overview:

It is just like any other budget Dell notebook- boring design, cheap looking plastic body, and unexceptional hardware packed underneath the chassis. However, we chose the 3467 for our list because it offers brilliant performance for the price, not to mention the fact that it is equipped with the best sounding speakers of any laptop under 25000 rupees.

      What we liked about this:

  • Great display- The 14” anti-glare screen on this notebook is probably one of the best displays we have seen on any laptop under 25k rupees. It reproduces colors accurately for a TN panel, and the contrast ratio is very good.
  • Decent audio- It features a pair of stereo speakers, tuned with MaxxAudio Pro.
  • Battery life- The Intel Core i3 6006U is very good at using only as much power as it needs to, which means that you can easily extract 4 to 6 hours of runtime from the 4-cell lithium ion battery.
  • Very light- It only weighs 1.956 kilos, making this Dell laptop the most portable model on our list.

       What we don't like:

  • Touchpad- Not very precise or responsive, and because of the surface design, all the oil and dust from your hands will collect on the touchpad within minutes.
  • Heating- some parts of this laptop will heat up after you use it for a few hours, especially if have placed it on an uneven surface while running hardware intensive programs.

Overview:

The only laptop under 25000 rupees to be equipped with a 7th generation Intel Core i3 processor. Which is a good indication of how fast this Acer is, compared to the competition from Dell and HP. It is also one of the slimmest and lightest 15.6” notebooks on the Indian market, weighing in at just 2.1 kilos.

      What we liked about this:

  • Brilliant processor- the 7th generation Core i3 in this Acer notebook is both faster as well as more efficient when compared to its predecessors from the 6th generation. This allows for faster and seamless multitasking, along with enhanced productivity in applications such as MS Office or Photoshop
  • Clever design- It looks good, feels well built, and rarely heats up thanks to the nice cooling system and unique body features, which help dissipate heat more effectively.
  • Battery life- Since it is equipped with the most efficient processor of any laptop on our list; it makes sense for the Aspire 3 to have an incredible battery life.
  • Keyboard- the full-size keyboard on this laptop is a pleasure to type on, thanks to the indented keycaps and short but tactile key travel.

       What we don't like:

  • Linux OS- This is a matter of personal preference, but we believe most people purchasing this laptop are used to Windows.
  • No disk drive- If you are still holding onto some old CDs or DVDs, then you will need to purchase an external DVD drive if you wish to use them on this laptop.

3. Lenovo IP 320E

Overview:

One of the most durable budget laptops we have ever seen. Strategically placed heat vents effectively dissipate hot air, while simultaneously being unobtrusive and staying out of vision. The body is made from high quality plastic, and there is minimal flexing in the lid or keyboard when you press down on them. Battery life is good, and the speakers sound amazing (for a laptop that costs under 25k rupees).

      What we liked about this:

  • Efficient multitasker- The Intel i3 6006U is a dual-core, 4 thread beast of a mobile CPU based on Skylake architecture, and it will handle anything you throw at it. Best of all, it will run your web browser, media player, office software, and anti-virus program- all at the same time,  without showing any signs of slowing down. If you add an extra 4GB of RAM, this laptop will become an even better multitasker.
  •  Good sound- The dual 1.5-watt stereo speakers are okay, but since they have been tuned with Dolby technology, you will experience sharper dialogue and deeper bass.
  • Well built- The lid feels sturdy and the keyboard is amazing, you can type as fast as you want without tiring your hands, thanks to the indented keycaps and generous spacing between keys. Heating is not an issue with this laptop, even after a whole day of work .
  • Lots of connectivity- You have 802.11 ac WIFI, Bluetooth v4.1, and USB 3.0 ports, not to mention an HDMI output and the 8x DVD drive.

       What we don't like:

  • DOS preinstalled- The only reason for DOS to exist on this laptop, is so you can installed your favorite OS (which is most likely Windows).
  • No VGA port- This is a bummer if you wanted to hookup an older monitor, or a projector that uses VGA input.

And The Winner Is

With a 7th generation Core i3 processor and 802.11 ac WIFI, no other laptop even comes close to competing with the Acer Aspire 3 A315-51 under 25000 rupees. It is sleek, lightweight, feature-packed, and affordable. Yes, it is slightly costlier than the other two, but you get more than what you pay for with this one. It is faster, more efficient, and gives you the best wireless LAN connectivity along with a set of good stereo speakers.

Conclusion-

All three laptops on our list are designed to be full-size models, these are not convertibles or 2-in-1 style machines, neither are these netbooks. Each one of these laptops is capable of everything from web browsing to photo editing and casual gaming. You can also use these for coding and designing presentations. Select based on the pros and cons of each model, and think about the qualities that you desire the most in your laptop.
